"Beware of Impersonators Claiming to Be HIRA Employees Demanding Deposits from Pharmacies"
The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) warned pharmacies on the 14th that there have been recent cases of individuals impersonating HIRA employees to induce payments, urging pharmacies to be cautious.
HIRA confirmed a case reported in a pharmacist community where someone impersonating a HIRA employee claimed that an amount meant to be deposited to another institution was mistakenly deposited elsewhere and requested payment to a personal account number.
HIRA plans to actively engage in damage prevention activities through its website and the healthcare institution work portal to prevent harm to pharmacies.
