Yangcheon-gu to Operate 12 Elementary School Experience Classes Including Cooking and Magic During Summer Vacation
From July 24 to August 18, a 4-week experience-oriented education program for about 200 elementary students in the district
Online first-come, first-served registration on the Lifelong Learning Center website starting July 17
Offering 12 courses including cooking, magic, animal interaction, crafts, science, and board games to support a meaningful summer vacation
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it will operate the ‘Experience-type Summer Vacation Special Lectures’ from July 24 to August 18 to help elementary students in the district spend a meaningful summer vacation.
This special lecture series consists of a total of 12 courses that combine fun and learning effects, including ▲Cooking Class ▲Animal Interaction Education ▲Thinking Vitamin Science Garden ▲Magic Class ▲Beautiful Handwriting (Calligraphy) ▲Creative Math Play ▲Leather Craft ▲World through Board Games, among others.
The program runs once a week for 4 weeks from July 24 to August 18, with a tuition fee of 10,000 KRW per course (materials fee separate). However, children from low-income families, near-poverty households, and single-parent families are exempt from all fees.
To improve convenience and accessibility for children’s transportation, the district plans to operate the special lectures at five locations by region, including the Lifelong Learning Center · Smart Creative Talent Center (80 Sinjeongjungang-ro), Yangcheon Culture Hall, and the Mok 1, Sinjeong 2, and Sinjeong 6 Community Centers.
The total recruitment quota is about 200 students, and residents who wish to enroll can apply online through the Lifelong Learning Center website starting July 17.
