UN Security Council Calls Emergency Meeting on North Korea's ICBM Launch on the 13th
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will hold an emergency meeting on the 13th to discuss North Korea's intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch.
The UK delegation, which holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council, announced on Twitter that "the Security Council will hold an emergency meeting following North Korea's ICBM launch."
In this regard, foreign media reported that the meeting was convened at the request of the United States, Albania, France, Japan, Malta, and the United Kingdom.
Although South Korea is not currently a Security Council member, it joined the request to convene the meeting in cooperation with allied countries such as the United States and Japan.

North Korea officially announced on the same day that "this missile is the new solid-fuel ICBM, Hwasong-18," following the ballistic missile launch into the East Sea the previous day. The missile is reported to have flown at an altitude of 6,000 km with a range of 1,000 km for 4,491 seconds (74 minutes and 51 seconds).
