The four countries in the Indo-Pacific region partnered with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)?South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand (AP4)?adopted a joint statement on the 12th (local time) condemning North Korea's launch of a long-range ballistic missile.
President Yoon Suk-yeol, along with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, expressed through the joint statement on the same day that "the Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand strongly condemn North Korea's launch of a long-range ballistic missile today".

The AP4 leaders pointed out that North Korea's missile provocation is "yet another example showing that North Korea continues to blatantly violate multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions, posing a serious challenge to peace and stability not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in the Indo-Pacific region and the international community." They added, "The four countries firmly oppose North Korea's illegal provocations and urge North Korea to fully comply with all obligations under the relevant UN Security Council resolutions."
They also emphasized cooperation with the UN and the international community. They stated, "We will work together with the UN and members of the international community to ensure the effective implementation of UN Security Council resolutions imposing sanctions on North Korea," and stressed, "No matter how much North Korea continues its nuclear and missile development and threatens the use of nuclear weapons, it only strengthens the international community's resolve to achieve North Korea's complete denuclearization."

Earlier, President Yoon hosted the AP4 leaders' meeting and said, "We cannot tolerate such provocations and must respond to North Korea's reckless actions through a strong international response and unity." He added, "North Korea's provocations are a direct challenge to peace in the Asia-Pacific region and the world, as well as to the rules-based order," and stated, "We, the AP4, must establish a strong collective security posture in solidarity with NATO."
