KACEPMA is an association composed of Korean construction industry experts, university professors, and graduate students residing in the United States. Founded in 2013, it operates with the purpose of strengthening the network of Korean construction professionals in the U.S. and exchanging the latest information.
The scholarship award ceremony was held at the conference center in Corvallis, Oregon, alongside the 2023 KACEPMA annual general meeting. The first scholarship recipients are Seunghyun Baek, who is conducting research on robotics convergence in construction at the University of Michigan, and Yujun Kim, who is researching smart construction at Texas A&M University. The scholarship amount is $5,000 per person. The KACEPMA scholarship selection committee chose the recipients based on major awards and research achievements. HanmiGlobal plans to annually select outstanding Korean students pursuing master's or doctoral degrees in construction project management at U.S. graduate schools and provide scholarships.
HanmiGlobal aims to strengthen its network with Korean American academic societies and cultivate excellent global PM professionals through the selection of Korean American construction project management scholarship students. HanmiGlobal officially entered the U.S. market by acquiring OTAK, a comprehensive engineering firm, in 2011, and subsequently acquired DAY CPM, a U.S. public construction PM specialist company, in 2017, and TWG, a U.S. PM company, in 2021.
