Lee Sang-min "Never Discussed Possibility of Bundang Realization"
The leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea issued a stern warning regarding Representative Lee Sang-min's recent remarks, citing them as problematic. They stated that references such as a "pleasant breakup" clearly constitute inappropriate behavior.
Park Sung-jun, the Democratic Party spokesperson, told reporters after the party's Supreme Council meeting on the 12th, "The leadership has addressed issues related to Representative Lee. His recent comments in media interviews have crossed the line," adding, "Since his remarks incite division within the party, the leadership has decided to issue a stern warning."

His remarks were also criticized by the Democratic Party Innovation Committee. Seo Bok-kyung, a member of the committee, said, "Are we just watching a fire next door? I hope he chooses his words carefully," and added, "An organization lacking discipline and order like this is not a democratic organization but a disorganized, chaotic family."
Regarding the stern warning, spokesperson Park conveyed, "Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party leader, also spoke strongly," and "All members of the party leadership agreed that this clearly constitutes inappropriate behavior warranting a warning."
Meanwhile, Representative Lee stated on CBS Radio regarding the controversial "pleasant breakup" comment, "I never said whether the possibility of a party split would materialize or not," adding, "I don't know."

He continued, "It seems impossible to continue together going forward, and rather than wasting energy fighting, it would be better for people who share the same thoughts to separate?not in the sense of leaving the party, but to each go their own way and compete in the quality of political services. If we cooperate on common grounds, wouldn't that actually help political development more?" He further said, "I'm speaking specifically about the Democratic Party, but the same applies to the People Power Party and other new political forces. If they compete in the quality of political services before the people and appeal to them, I believe the people will give them full support." This was an explanation that he was not directly referring to a split within the Democratic Party but speaking generally about the political sphere.
