The Climate Action 1.5℃ School Challenge is a climate action practice program conducted since 2020 by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Education targeting future generations and educational institutions to spread a culture of carbon-neutral practice. Schools, students, and teachers with outstanding participation in eco-friendly activities suggested by the Climate Action 1.5℃ application (app), such as not using disposable straws, are selected and rewarded each semester.
Since 2019, Hyundai Department Store has been implementing the 'Classroom Forest Creation Project,' delivering air-purifying plants to elementary schools to promote the health of future generations and a comfortable learning environment. This year, Hyundai Department Store decided to participate as a sponsoring company, judging that its management policy of practicing eco-friendliness in daily life aligns with the purpose of the Climate Action 1.5℃ School Challenge. Including this year's School Challenge, a total of 7,578 air-purifying plants have been provided to 40 schools nationwide so far.
