Gyeonggi-do to Finalize Population 2.0 Committee Name Through Resident Vote
Gyeonggi Province will finalize the name of the committee, which works with residents to address low birth rates and improve awareness, through a public vote.
On the 12th, Gyeonggi Province announced that from the 13th to 6 p.m. on the 19th of this month, it will conduct a public vote among residents via the Gyeonggi Province Opinion Survey (survey.gg.go.kr/app/index.do) to select the official name of the "Population 2.0 Committee."
The Population 2.0 Committee has served as a body that, under the leadership of Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province, gathers residents' voices monthly on marriage, pregnancy and childbirth, childcare, and elementary school care to inform policy-making.
In line with the purpose of creating policies that reflect residents' voices, Gyeonggi Province previously accepted name proposals for the committee from residents.
Out of a total of 267 submissions, Gyeonggi Province selected the following as final candidates through expert review: Population TokTok Committee, Population Vision 201, and Population Platform 2.1 (in order of receipt), and put them up for the residents' vote.
