POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Jin-su) added warmth to the local community by delivering vehicles to vulnerable social welfare facilities and child care centers in need of transportation on the 10th.
Gwangyang Steelworks, which works together with the local community to present a model where companies and society develop together for coexistence and mutual growth, has been continuously supporting local welfare facilities with vehicles such as lift cars for the disabled, buses, and vans since 2006.
Gwangyang Steelworks gifted one van each to three local social welfare facilities (Gwangyang YWCA, Dodam Group Home, Neulsarang Regional Children's Center).

This year, they supported one van each (totaling 100 million KRW) to Gwangyang YWCA, Dodam Group Home, and Neulsarang Regional Child Center to facilitate their smooth transportation. With this, the total number of vehicles delivered to the local community has reached 56, amounting to approximately 1.6 billion KRW.
In particular, with the average global temperature reaching record highs since weather observations began, and heatwaves forecasted in Gwangyang City as well, the vehicles delivered this time are expected to be used meaningfully as hands and feet for neighbors in need.
Lee Cheol-ho, Deputy Director of Gwangyang Steelworks, said, “We hope the donated vehicles will be used to provide high-quality services to the elderly, disabled, and children using the facilities,” and added, “We will continue various sharing activities to practice the corporate citizenship management philosophy by collaborating with social welfare organizations in the region.”
Meanwhile, marking the 5th anniversary of the corporate citizenship management philosophy declaration and the 20th anniversary of the POSCO Volunteer Corps founding, Gwangyang Steelworks is engaging with the local community through events such as the Global Model Citizen Week, joint volunteer activities, and the POSCO Concert with citizens.
