Ministry of Science and ICT Holds Meeting of the 'Digital New Order Establishment Consultative Group'
Establishing and Operating a Digital Public Forum
On the 11th, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it held the 3rd meeting of the Digital New Order Establishment Consultative Body (Consultative Body) on the same day.
The Consultative Body was launched in March to serve as a focal point for gathering opinions from representative associations and experts across various sectors of society to establish a new digital order. The chairperson is Yeom Jae-ho, president of Taejae University.
At the 3rd meeting, participants including the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI), Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI), and National Information Society Agency (NIA) shared the progress and basic direction of the draft "(tentative name) Digital Bill of Rights," which was prepared after reviewing trends in overseas digital norm discussions and digital megatrend research. In-depth discussions were held. Additionally, the meeting discussed ways to link the basic principles of the global digital order ('Paris Initiative') presented by President Yoon Seok-yeol at the Paris 'Digital Vision Forum' on the 21st of last month.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed plans for the establishment and operation of the 'Digital Public Forum,' a communication platform to support social discussions and consensus-building on advanced digital issues.

The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to conduct in-depth expert opinion gathering through the 'Digital Society,' which will involve scholars and experts from various fields, reflecting the results of this meeting. Park Yoon-kyu, the 2nd Vice Minister, said, "This 3rd meeting was an opportunity to collect opinions on the basic direction of the 'Digital Bill of Rights' prepared through previous research teams," adding, "It is the first step toward incorporating diverse opinions through full-fledged social discussions." He continued, "Under the direction of the President's digital policy concept, the 'Paris Initiative,' we will continue broad discussions to link and concretize related discussions with the 'Digital Bill of Rights.'"
