POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Jin-su) hosted the '2023 POSCO Corporate Citizen Concert Hip-hop Festival' on the 9th at Eoullim Gymnasium located in Geumho-dong, Gwangyang City, inviting top domestic hip-hop artists Tiger JK, Yoon Mirae, BE’O, and BIBI.
The Corporate Citizen POSCO Concert is an event where POSCO practices its corporate citizen management philosophy by providing opportunities for not only employees but also citizens to enjoy cultural performances. Since 2019, it has created a festival venue with various themed performances and lectures that local residents can take pride in.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the Corporate Citizen POSCO Concert had been temporarily suspended since 2020 but resumed this year as quarantine rules were relaxed. In June, Gwangyang Steelworks invited Korea’s representative magician Choi Hyun-woo to showcase the mysterious world of magic to employees and local residents at Baegun Art Hall in Geumho-dong, Gwangyang.
This year, POSCO will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the comprehensive completion of Pohang Steelworks (July 3) and the 5th anniversary of the declaration of the corporate citizen management philosophy by offering diverse cultural performances where employees and citizens can create memories together.
The concert, held in a venue with approximately 2,700 seats, featured major domestic rappers Tiger JK, Yoon Mirae, BE’O, and BIBI, who heated up the stage with various hit songs.
In particular, the harmonious stage combining legendary artists who have brought about the revival of Korean hip-hop and rookie rappers rapidly emerging as new blue chips among the MZ generation drew enthusiastic responses from audiences of all ages and genders.
The stage was also set up in a standing format rather than seated, allowing the audience to sing along in unison and dance to the artists’ choreography, creating an atmosphere at Eoullim Gymnasium reminiscent of a large concert hall in Seoul.
A citizen who watched the performance said, “I had been starved for cultural life due to COVID-19, and I never dreamed I would be able to see such a large-scale, high-quality concert here in Gwangyang,” adding, “I am grateful that Gwangyang Steelworks directly prepared a cultural event reflecting the latest trends and meeting citizens’ expectations.”
Meanwhile, POSCO plans to further expand diverse cultural performances by additionally hosting high-quality Corporate Citizen Concerts featuring idol and trot singers in the second half of this year, aiming to reconnect cultural communication with local residents that was disrupted by COVID-19.
