"Gyeongnam seafood is safe and delicious!"
On the 10th, Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, said this at an event to promote the consumption of seafood produced in the province held at the provincial government office.
Gyeongnam Province, together with the Gyeongnam Headquarters of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives and local fisheries cooperatives, held promotional and sales events to encourage the consumption of seafood produced within the province.

The event was attended by Governor Park, Kim Hyun-chul, Chairman of the Agriculture, Oceans and Fisheries Committee, Noh Dong-jin, Chairman of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, heads of fisheries cooperatives by district and industry, and about 1,000 provincial government employees.
Jinhae, Geoje, Goseong, and Namhae Fisheries Cooperatives, as well as oyster suspended culture, coastal trap, anchovy purse seine, sea squirt suspended culture, and Southwest Sea fish farming cooperatives participated together.

In the outdoor space in front of the provincial government cafeteria, seafood caught in the province such as oysters, sea squirts, anchovies, eels, and satin scallops were displayed and sold.
Governor Park, Chairman Kim, Chairman Noh, and others tasted the seafood prepared for easy eating, praised it, and encouraged the fisheries cooperative officials.
After the event, they had lunch together with provincial government employees in the cafeteria, featuring dishes made with rockfish, eel, oysters, and seaweed.

Chairman Kim said, "After tasting Gyeongnam seafood today, it has quality and taste that cannot be missed anywhere," adding, "We will do our best to promote the safety of our seafood and increase consumption."
Chairman Noh said, "Seafood from the southern coast is thoroughly tested for radiation and other issues, so please trust and enjoy it," and added, "If there is any problem, I, as the chairman of the fisheries cooperative, will take responsibility."
Governor Park said, "I hope the residents and the public will love our Namhae coast seafood, which is delicious and good for health," and added, "Please help us revive the fisheries industry, preserve the marine environment, and empower fishermen."
He continued, "I hope this event will help the fisheries industry, which is facing difficulties due to the summer off-season and the upcoming discharge of contaminated water, by promoting safe seafood consumption," and said, "We will strive harder to induce safe seafood consumption and discover various policies to expand seafood consumption together with local governments, fisheries cooperatives, and regional companies."

The province plans to use local festivals in each city and county to carry out large-scale seafood promotion and sales activities starting with this event.
