'70th Anniversary of the Armistice' Peace Korea Unites to Advocate for the Return of North Korean Detained Missionaries

From Academic Conferences to Peace Concerts and Civil Diplomacy
Peace Korea, a nonprofit organization registered with the Ministry of Unification, announced on the 10th that it will carry out a "Joint Project for the Repatriation of Detained Missionaries" to mark the 70th anniversary of the armistice. To promote North Korean human rights and the repatriation of detained missionaries, the project will include ▲an international academic conference ▲a DMZ International Peace Union Worship Service ▲a 70th Anniversary Armistice Peace Concert ▲civil public diplomacy activities (photo exhibitions, overseas workshops, government meetings, etc.).
The international academic conference will be held on the 21st from 9:30 a.m. at Jeongdong 1928 Art Center. The main topics will be the repatriation of North Korean detainees (Kim Jeong-wook, Kim Guk-gi, Choi Chun-gil) and the promotion of North Korean human rights.
On the 25th at 5 p.m., the "DMZ International Peace Union Worship Service" will take place at Imjingak Peace Nuri Park. A prayer meeting will be held for the release of detained North Korean missionaries and the creative improvement of inter-Korean relations. About 40 churches including Mannah Church, Sae Joongang Church, Juan Presbyterian Church, Chungmanhan Church, Hallelujah Church, and about 10 domestic and international organizations such as the Korea Evangelical Fellowship, Korea Christian Unification Mission, Revival Korea, Unification Korea Mission Conference, and Jesuswon will participate.
Following the worship service on the 25th, from 7 p.m., the "70th Anniversary Armistice Peace Concert" will be held. Performers include ▲Sohyang ▲Hana Chorus ▲Brass Brothers ▲Semi-han Sound ▲Nam-Buk United.

The civil public diplomacy project will continue until November. Starting with Europe (Finland, Germany) and China, workshops and practical consultations for the repatriation of North Korean detainees will be held in Japan in September and the United States in November. The civil public diplomacy project is supported by the Ministry of Unification.
