8 Organizations Including Dong-A University Hold 'Eco-friendly Marine Industry Future Strategy Forum'
The Dong-A University Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University (LINC 3.0) Development Project Group held the ‘2023 Eco-friendly Marine Industry Future Strategy Forum’ together with related organizations in the marine industry sector.
Dong-A University and these organizations signed a ‘Joint Cooperation Agreement for Strengthening Shipbuilding and Marine Design Engineering Capabilities and Revitalizing Corporate Support,’ pledging to focus on enhancing design engineering capabilities and resolving on-site technical difficulties going forward.
The event, recently held at the Busan Port Passenger Terminal Convention Center, was attended by eight organizations including Dong-A University, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, the Ship & Offshore Plant Research Institute, Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering, Small and Medium Shipbuilding Research Institute, Busan Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Industry Cooperative, Busan Marine Engineering Industry Association, and Busan Industry-Academia Convergence Center.
These eight related organizations in the marine industry sector, including Dong-A University, organized this forum to share changes in the marine industry environment due to global eco-friendly issues and to find solutions for the sustainable development of Korea’s shipbuilding and marine industry.

View original imageAt the forum, over 250 experts from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Busan City, and related organizations and companies in the marine and shipping industries gathered to pool wisdom for the advancement of Korea’s eco-friendly ship technology.
The technical sessions were conducted under four topics: ▲Domestic and international trends of eco-friendly ships ▲Methanol-powered ships ▲Ammonia-powered ships ▲Electric and hydrogen fuel cell-powered ships, sharing trends in propulsion technology development, construction cases, and prospects for eco-friendly ships.
