Lee Hyun-jung, the vice representative of the Justice Party, was arrested on the spot for obstructing official duties during a protest against Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), visiting Korea, and was later released to go home.
According to the police on the 8th, Vice Representative Lee was arrested around 11 p.m. the previous day at Gimpo Airport for hitting a police officer's face and breaking his glasses while unfolding a banner during the protest against Director General Grossi's visit.
The police determined that Vice Representative Lee's identity was confirmed and there was no risk of flight, so she was released to go home.
