Pohang City Accelerates Fostering ‘Gangsonong’ to Enhance Competitiveness through Smart Agriculture
6 Sessions of Follow-up Education for Small-Scale Farmers from 6th to August 7th
Pohang City will conduct six follow-up training sessions for small but strong farmers from July 6 to August 7 to strengthen the competitiveness of local agriculture by fostering small but strong farmers who will lead smart agriculture.

Recently, they have gained attention as a response to the crisis in rural communities caused by labor shortages.
The follow-up training for small but strong farmers is systematically provided to trainees who have completed basic education to nurture small but strong agricultural management entities that will lead smart agriculture. The training covers ▲ laws that farmers should know ▲ new marketing strategies for smart small but strong farmers ▲ soil management and agricultural use of microorganisms ▲ specialized techniques for pest and disease control ▲ and healing agriculture.
The city conducted eight basic training sessions for small but strong farmers from March to May and has been providing high-quality education such as customized consulting and on-site training from private experts to increase farmers' income.
In particular, through new personal networks among members, mutual cooperation is promoted to continuously manage and strengthen management skills and self-reliance capabilities in the rapidly changing agricultural environment, contributing to value-added creation.
