After the appointment ceremony, the Regulatory Reform Committee was held presided over by Vice County Governor Kim Jeong-seop, selecting 10 outstanding projects from the ‘2023 Regulatory Innovation Idea Contest’.
This contest was held to discover various regulations that hinder residents' daily lives and economic activities. From March 6 to April 24, over 50 days, ideas were solicited from residents and businesses, receiving a total of 57 proposals.
Among them, 15 proposals that passed the preliminary screening were submitted to the Regulatory Reform Committee, and through the final evaluation, a total of 10 outstanding projects were selected (1 grand prize, 3 excellence awards, and 6 encouragement awards).
The selected outstanding projects include ▲Grand Prize (Proposal for relief of damage caused by feral livestock in island areas), ▲Excellence Awards (Establishment of a system that can print a view of all cultivated plots when issuing farmland registers, improvement of submission methods for registration documents when registering fishery management entities, submission of photo files when reissuing resident registration cards for visitors).
The county plans to award the outstanding proposers within this month, and the regulatory improvement tasks received will be actively proposed to central government ministries after consultation with relevant departments.
A county official said, “We ask for the active interest and participation of residents in regulatory reform to improve regulations that restrict residents’ rights and hinder regional development, thereby resolving inconveniences and enhancing quality of life.”
