Jinyoung Receives 2 Billion Won Government Support... "Selected for National Project to Develop Export-Oriented High-Value Eco-Friendly Plastic Deco Sheets"
Jinyoung, a specialized company in functional plastic sheets, announced on the 7th that it has been finally selected for the ‘Export-Oriented National Project’ under the Small and Medium Business Innovation Development Project led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS). Through this national project, Jinyoung plans to develop high value-added eco-friendly plastic deco sheets by receiving 2 billion KRW in research and development funding from the government.
The Innovation Development Project led by the MSS targets promising export-oriented small and medium enterprises among companies selected for the ‘2023 Global Strong Small and Medium Enterprises 1000+ Project.’ The MSS supports technology development to help selected companies secure a competitive edge in the global market and pioneer overseas markets for sustainable growth.
Through this national project, Jinyoung plans to develop high value-added multilayer deco sheets with various resin laminated structures, including recycled resins. Specifically, the goals are ▲ multilayer deco sheets laminated with high-impact PMMA, ASA, and ABS resins ▲ eco-friendly multilayer deco sheets applying recycled ASA resin ▲ development of UV coating technology for the surface of back plate deco sheets.
When manufacturing sheets by laminating expensive high-impact PMMA resin with ASA and ABS resins, it is expected that various designs can be realized while maintaining functionality, securing price competitiveness. In addition, the company explained that in line with the recent movements of governments worldwide to increase the usage ratio of recycled plastics, recycling ASA waste resources to secure higher added value has significance in practicing eco-friendly ESG management.
Sim Young-su, CEO of Jinyoung, said, “Based on Jinyoung’s unique functional plastic sheet manufacturing technology that has succeeded in the furniture finishing and interior market, we have continuously developed various high-performance products,” adding, “We will successfully carry out this national project as well to develop next-generation eco-friendly multilayer deco sheets and secure new revenue sources.”
