Yongin City to Implement 'Middle-aged Daily Care' for Care Blind Spots Starting August
The city of Yongin in Gyeonggi Province has been selected as a pilot area for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Daily Care Service' project.
Accordingly, Yongin City has secured national funding, will establish the necessary infrastructure for the project within this month, and will begin recruiting users starting in August.
The target beneficiaries of the Daily Care Service are 30 middle-aged adults (aged 40-64) and family care youth (aged 13-39) who have been excluded from care services for the elderly, disabled, and children.
Recipients are selected based on the need for service (such as illness or isolation) rather than income level.
The support includes 'basic services' that assist with daily living such as care and housekeeping, and 'specialized services' tailored to specific needs such as hospital accompaniment, meal and nutrition management, and psychological support.
Once selected, beneficiaries receive social service vouchers and pay a co-payment differentiated according to income level to access the necessary services.
Yongin City will carry out the project with a total budget of 150 million KRW, receiving 100 million KRW in national funding.
