Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army, which oversees Taiwan, on the 6th and instructed to "give full effort."
According to local media on the day, President Xi began his inspection at 3:15 PM (local time).
Local media reported that he mentioned the important contributions the Eastern Theater Command has made since its establishment in safeguarding national territory, maritime sovereignty, and national reunification.
President Xi said, "The world has now entered a new period of great upheaval and transformation, and the instability and uncertainty of China's security situation have increased," adding, "We must constantly keep our mission and duties in mind, maintain a problem-oriented approach, heighten our sense of crisis, and make every effort to fulfill the main combat functions of the theater command."
He continued, "We must deepen war and combat planning, strengthen the joint operational command system of the theater command," and emphasized, "We need to conduct realistic military training and accelerate efforts to enhance our ability to fight and win."

President Xi also stated, "We must maintain an attitude of thinking and handling military matters from a political height and be proficient in fighting and winning," adding, "We must firmly safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests."
