Jinan-gun, 'Stop Using' Drug Terms in Food Products
Promotion Campaign Centered on Children's Food Safety Protection Zones
Jinan-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 6th that it conducted a campaign to refrain from using the word ‘drug’ centered around children’s food safety protection zones in the area from the 3rd to the 5th.
Children’s food safety protection zones refer to areas designated under the Special Act on the Safety Management of Children’s Dietary Life to create a safe and hygienic food sales environment. The food safety protection zone is an area within a straight-line distance of 200 meters from the boundary of a school and the school itself.
Recently, according to the announcement by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the term ‘drug’ has been used in food or restaurant names such as ‘drug gimbap.’ This event was promoted due to concerns that adolescents who frequently encounter the expression ‘drug’ might lower their vigilance against drugs and become familiar with the term.
