Gwangju Seo-gu Supports Rent for Closed and Reopened Small Business Owners... Up to 5 Million Won

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 6th that it is recruiting small business owners to participate in the ‘Closed Small Business Owners Restart Project Support Program.’

Seo-gu will support small business owners who have closed their businesses due to economic recession and sharp sales decline by providing up to 1 million KRW per month for rent for five months, up to a maximum of 5 million KRW per business, until December this year to help them overcome the crisis and achieve stable and successful reestablishment.

In particular, for small business owners who have restarted their businesses, the program will provide retroactive support for rent paid before applying for the project to reduce the initial economic burden and promote stable management.

The application period will close on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted. Eligible applicants are tenant small business owners in Seo-gu who have closed their businesses within three years as of the announcement date (operated for more than 60 days) and have restarted or plan to restart their businesses between January 1 and the end of this year.

To apply, applicants should refer to the announcement on the Seo-gu website, complete the application form and required documents, and submit them in person or via email to the Seo-gu Small Business Management Support Center.

Seo-gu plans to select support recipients after reviewing eligibility such as closure and building lease status through the submitted documents.

A Seo-gu official said, “We hope that rent support will be a much-needed relief for small business owners who are struggling after closure during this unprecedented period of inflation, enabling them to restart their businesses stably.”
