Daejeon City Special Judicial Police Detect 4 Sites Violating Waste Management Act
The Special Judicial Police of Daejeon City announced on the 6th that they conducted a planned crackdown for two months starting from May 8th on waste disposal companies and construction waste disposal sites within the jurisdiction, uncovering four businesses that violated the Waste Management Act and other regulations.
The main violations included breaches of waste disposal business compliance requirements (2 cases) and failure to implement measures to suppress scattered dust at construction sites (2 cases).
According to the Waste Management Act, those who collect and transport waste from non-emission facility-type businesses in the waste disposal industry must maintain at least three licensed vehicles, and those who collect and transport waste from emission facility-type businesses must maintain at least two vehicles.
However, Company A was caught operating with only two vehicles after scrapping one vehicle while collecting and transporting waste from non-emission facility-type businesses.
Additionally, Company B, an emission facility-type collection and transportation business, violated compliance by continuing operations with only one vehicle after scrapping one vehicle.
Company C was found to have failed to implement dust suppression measures during an inspection of construction waste disposal status at a construction site. Although a dustproof cover must be installed to prevent dust when storing piled soil for more than one day, the company stored approximately 4,000㎥ of soil on-site for about 40 days without installing dustproof cover facilities.
Company D was caught for not installing any dust suppression facilities (mobile water spraying facilities) at all.
