Kim Jong-min: "Choo Mi-ae's Remarks Are Ignored Within the Democratic Party... A Gossip Issue"
Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Jong-min, who is not aligned with the faction of former President Moon Jae-in and former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon, stated that there is little interest within the party regarding former Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae's claim that they pressured her to resign.
On the 5th, Kim said on CBS's 'Park Jae-hong's One-on-One Match,' "Those who are very interested in former Minister Chu are mostly people who want the Democratic Party to fail in some way."
In response to writer Jin Joong-kwon's question about whether Chu's appearance might divide the party's internal support base, he replied, "Whatever former Minister Chu says is her personal freedom, but I wonder if the lawmakers within the Democratic Party or many supporters of the party would take it as a serious topic for discussion." He added, "It might just be a gossip-type issue, but it is not serious enough to become an obstacle or cause a rift between Lee Nak-yeon and Lee Jae-myung when they meet."
He further stated, "Rather, it seems that the media or the People Power Party approach this from the perspective of 'Ah, it would be good if the Democratic Party is divided like that. So this issue is a welcome one,' and they comment, provoke, and consume it in that way."
Kim pointed out that it is unreasonable for former Minister Chu to interfere with the president's personnel decisions. He said, "(Former Minister Chu) seems to have some resentment about the president's personnel decisions," but added, "The relationship between the president and ministers is such that even if the president dismisses a minister, it is the president's constitutional authority as the appointing power, so I think it is inappropriate to complain about that judgment."

Regarding the possibility of former Minister Chu being nominated for Gwangjin District, he dismissed it by saying, "Nominations usually become clear about two months before a general election," and "No matter how much we talk now about whether it will happen or who the new candidate might be, it is not accurate. It is better to discuss who will run in Gwangjin about one or two months before the election."
