Sang-ik Lee, Hampyeong County Governor, Donates Scholarship Fund for Talent Development
Since the Second Half of the 7th Civilian Administration, Over 300 Million Won Donated
Lee Sang-ik, the mayor of Hampyeong County, is fulfilling his promise made during his candidacy to donate his entire salary for the benefit of the county residents.
According to the county on the 5th, Mayor Lee Sang-ik, marking the first anniversary of the 8th local government, donated his entire first half salary of 47.2 million KRW to the Hampyeong County Talent Development Fund.

View original imageSince his candidacy, Mayor Lee promised to return his entire salary to support talent development and has been keeping his monthly salary and allowances in the county’s revenue and expenditure cash account.
Thus, over his approximately three years in office from the latter half of the 7th local government to the present, the total salary Mayor Lee has donated to the Talent Development Fund amounts to over 300 million KRW.
Mayor Lee Sang-ik said, “I find it especially meaningful to be able to contribute to nurturing talents who will lead Hampyeong’s future,” and added, “I hope this will serve as an opportunity for more people to participate in creating scholarships.”
Meanwhile, the Hampyeong County Talent Development Fund began in August 1993 as a county-wide patriotic movement and has continued to this day.

The county aims to raise 10 billion KRW for the Talent Development Fund in 2023 and has awarded scholarships to a total of approximately 4,436 people, including 187 in the first half of this year.
