The Vision 2030 project is a national strategic initiative actively promoted by Saudi Crown Prince Bin Salman to diversify the existing oil-centered industrial structure. Among these, the SEHA Virtual Hospital project is a top priority in the healthcare sector, aiming to introduce virtual hospitals utilizing digital technologies such as medical artificial intelligence (AI) across medical institutions throughout Saudi Arabia and provide high-quality medical services. The Saudi government plans to invest a total of $66 billion (approximately 86 trillion KRW) in building medical infrastructure including virtual hospitals and expand private sector participation from 40% to 65%.
To participate in the Vision 2030 SEHA Virtual Hospital project, Lunit has completed the installation of its chest X-ray AI image analysis solution 'Lunit INSIGHT CXR' and mammography AI image analysis solution 'Lunit INSIGHT MMG' at the world's largest public virtual hospital under the Saudi Ministry of Health (MoH). By November, Lunit plans to conduct clinical safety and efficacy verification and product performance evaluation of its AI solutions. Upon successful completion of the performance evaluation, Lunit's products will be actively utilized in the Saudi 'National Cancer Screening and Tuberculosis Testing' program at 170 national and public virtual hospitals across Saudi Arabia.
Seobum Seok, CEO of Lunit, said, "Following the visit of Crown Prince Bin Salman to Korea at the end of last year, the 'New Middle East Boom' has gained momentum, raising domestic companies' export expectations for the Saudi government's Vision 2030 project. Given the enormous economic impact expected from this project, as Lunit actively participates in the SEHA Virtual Hospital project, we will continue to aggressively target the highly profitable Middle Eastern healthcare market."
