'The 2nd Women Entrepreneurs Week' Opens Today... "Women Entrepreneurs as Key Players in the Economy"
On the 4th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association held the '2nd Women Entrepreneurs Week Opening Ceremony' at the Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul.
This Women Entrepreneurs Week was elevated to a truly representative event for women in the economy by being jointly organized not only by the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association but also by the Korea Women Venture Association, Korea Women Inventors Association, IT Women Entrepreneurs Association, and the Korean Federation of Women’s Science and Technology Associations.
This year’s slogan, "A New Future, Women Entrepreneurs Leaping Forward Together," embodies the determination for women entrepreneurs to stand tall as key players in our economy through communication and harmony across generations. A total of 410 participants, including women entrepreneurs and future generations such as female students, gathered to pledge to bloom the flowers of hope for our economy.
Along with this, government awards totaling 14, including the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit, were presented to outstanding exemplary women entrepreneurs.
Lee Jeong-han, President of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, emphasized in his opening remarks, "Let us leverage the delicacy and strength unique to women entrepreneurs to leap forward together and take the lead in economic development."

Lee Young, Minister of SMEs and Startups, stated, "In our economy facing low birth rates and low growth, women entrepreneurs equipped with technological capabilities will be recognized as a new growth engine going forward," and added, "I hope the pride and status of women entrepreneurs will be further elevated."
