Yongin City Opens 'Media Center and Shared Studio' on the 4th
On the 4th, Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province opened a Media Center and a Shared Studio.
The Media Center, built at 509 Dongbaek Jukjeon-daero, Giheung-gu, Yongin City, was established with a budget of 1 billion KRW each from national and city funds. It spans from three basement floors to the first floor above ground, with a total floor area of 4,232㎡.
The Media Center is equipped with three studios featuring filming equipment and lighting for various video and photo shoots. It also includes a multipurpose exhibition space and educational areas for showcasing works.
A nursing room for children and a rest area for citizens are expected to maximize the center's usability.
Yongin City also created a Shared Studio equipped with lighting facilities, a one-person media production room, a media education room, and an audio studio at 32 Jisam-ro 198beon-gil, Giheung-gu. The facility construction cost of 500 million KRW was fully funded by national government support.
To enhance facility utilization, Yongin City entrusted the operation to Dankook University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation until May 21, 2026.
Both facilities are available for use by any citizen to create video-related creative works.

A Yongin City official stated, "The Media Center and Shared Studio will provide places and technology to enable any citizen to become a planner who can create video and cultural creative works," adding, "Through the use of the Media Center, local artists freed from equipment and space constraints will be able to elevate Yongin City's cultural stature, and we will prepare various policies and facility support to that end."
