Pernod Ricard Introduces Digital Labels Using QR Codes
Pernod Ricard Korea announced on the 3rd that it will introduce a digital label system using QR codes to promote responsible alcohol consumption. The Pernod Ricard Group has been piloting digital labels across Europe since July last year and plans to apply them to all Pernod Ricard Group products worldwide by 2024.
Pernod Ricard Korea has been developing QR codes and related systems since the second half of last year and plans to sequentially introduce QR code labels on products sold in Korea starting in the second half of this year. The new digital label system using QR codes was introduced to provide consumers with more product information and effectively deliver responsible drinking-related content.
When consumers scan the QR code attached to the back label of a product, they are directed to a webpage where they can check information about each product. The information provided includes ▲ health risks caused by excessive drinking ▲ responsible drinking guidelines. All materials provided through the digital labels by the Pernod Ricard Group are offered in the local language according to each country's regulations and drinking guidelines.

Additionally, in addition to the voluntary display of the pregnant women drinking prohibition logo currently shown on bottle labels, a drunk driving prohibition logo will be added. To ensure consumers' right to know, the company plans to label calorie information and other details on the back of bottles of major products by 2025.
