Car Owner Who Blocked Shopping Mall Parking Lot for a Week Says "Working Two Jobs, Couldn't Even Dare... It Wasn't Disappearance"
Apology Post on Internet Community
"I'm Sorry for My Deserving Criticism"
"Clarification: Issue Due to Double Charging of Maintenance Fees, Not Parking Fee Dispute"
The owner of a vehicle who left their car abandoned for a week at the entrance of a shopping mall parking lot in Incheon has posted an apology on an online community.
On the 2nd, a post titled "I am the Incheon Parking Villain (악당) in question" was uploaded on the online community 'Bobae Dream'. The author, Mr. A, identified himself as the owner of the vehicle that recently blocked the entrance to the Incheon shopping mall parking lot.
Mr. A, a tenant of the shopping mall, parked his car in the underground parking lot of the mall on the 21st of last month and the next day around 8:30 a.m., while exiting, left his car stopped in front of the barrier gate and walked away. His car remained in the same spot from the 22nd to the 28th of last month, causing significant inconvenience to parking lot users and shopping mall visitors.
The place where Mr. A parked his vehicle is inside the shopping mall building, not a road under the Road Traffic Act, so the police or the local district office could not tow the vehicle arbitrarily. Also, although the police applied for an arrest warrant and a vehicle search warrant for Mr. A on the 27th of last month, the prosecution dismissed it, stating that there was little concern that he would ignore the summons.

He added, "As soon as I moved the vehicle, I immediately went to the store owner who was trapped (in the parking lot) because of me and apologized with a bowed head," and "I am also trying to find the contact information of a few others who could not move their cars." It was reported that a total of four cars were trapped in the parking lot because of Mr. A's vehicle.
However, Mr. A explained that the reason he blocked the entrance to the shopping mall parking lot with his vehicle was not due to a parking fee dispute but because of a double charge issue on management fees. He claimed, "The management committee, which I had never seen for over six years, appeared around May and demanded payment again for several years' worth of management fees amounting to tens of millions of won that I had already paid to the individual owners," and said the committee threatened, "If you do not pay the management fees, you will not be allowed to use the parking lot."
Mr. A also addressed rumors about his 'disappearance.' He explained, "I did not disappear for a week," adding, "I have two jobs and was near the building while working the other job, and I tried to move the vehicle, but I was discouraged by the presence of reporters and YouTubers." He said he expected the management committee to contact him if he staged a protest or took action, but only the police contacted him, stating, "I have nothing to say even if I had ten mouths. I sincerely cooperated with the police investigation and will accept any punishment."
