Gurye-gun and Jirisan Resort Sign Investment Agreement Worth 10 Billion Won

Investment in Tourist Facilities such as Family Hotel Campgrounds and Golf Practice Ranges

On the 30th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do and Jirisan Resort Co., Ltd. announced that they signed an investment agreement worth 10 billion KRW to establish a family hotel at the county office's governor's office.

The investment agreement was made in the presence of key officials including Kim Sun-ho, Governor of Gurye-gun, Kim Soo-cheol, Vice Chairman of the Gurye-gun Council, Yang Cheol-jin, CEO of Jirisan Resort Co., Ltd., and Park Young-rae, President.

Jirisan Resort Co., Ltd. plans to invest 10 billion KRW to purchase the KT Jirisan Training Center located in Gwangui-myeon, Gurye-gun, which had ceased operations due to COVID-19, and transform it into a family hotel equipped with a golf practice range, swimming pool, and camping site. The hotel is scheduled to open in September this year and is expected to become a leading local accommodation facility linked with Hwaeomsa Temple and the Jirisan History and Culture Center.

The operation of the family hotel is expected to create about 30 new jobs and contribute to an increase in stay-type tourists in the Hwaeomsa area as well as revitalizing the local commercial district.

Governor Kim Sun-ho said, “We expect an increase in family tourists through this investment agreement and will support the project to proceed as planned.”

Vice Chairman Kim Soo-cheol of the county council said, “I hope it will become a representative accommodation facility in the Hwaeomsa area, and please make efforts to ensure that local residents receive many benefits when using the facility.”

Yang Cheol-jin, CEO of Jirisan Resort Co., Ltd., stated, “We will take the lead in revitalizing the local economy by prioritizing hiring local residents, using agricultural specialties, and attracting tourists so that the family hotel can establish itself together with the community.”
