Goheung-gun Conducts Survey on Returning to Farming and Rural Migration

Used as basic data for establishing population inflow policies

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will conduct the '2023 Gohung-gun Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Survey' for the first time from July 3 to July 20.

This survey aims to understand the overall changes in living environments before and after moving in for return-to-farming and return-to-village households, and will be conducted every three years to prepare support measures for successful settlement and to serve as basic data for population inflow policies.

The county was selected last year for the standard manual revision and dissemination project conducted by the Honam Regional Statistics Office, and after signing a business agreement in March, completed preparations for the survey through survey design, confirmation of survey targets, and statistical approval procedures.

The survey targets all household members aged 19 or older from a sample of 1,008 return-to-farming and return-to-village households in Gohung-gun over the past three years (2020-2022). The survey items consist of six sections and 46 questions, including ▲housing-related matters ▲social relationships ▲administrative and policy matters ▲individual and household ▲return-to-farming, and others.

The survey method combines face-to-face interviews and non-face-to-face surveys. The non-face-to-face survey is conducted by having the target households fill out the survey forms provided by the surveyors and then collecting them.

A county official stated, “The survey contents are strictly confidential in accordance with Article 33 (Confidentiality Protection) of the Statistics Act, and since the statistical data will be used as important basic data for future policy decisions, we ask for active participation to ensure accurate surveys.”
