The first half program ran for 10 weeks from April 18 to June 23, with 83 young participants taking part in eight courses including leathercraft, pottery, rattan craft, baking, cooking, sewing machine, natural soap, and porcelain art. The works created by the students during the courses are on display at the Youth Startup Platform until June 30.
The networking day, organized as a space for communication among participating youth and for exchanging ideas to develop the Youth Center, proceeded with sharing impressions from instructors and students, exchanging opinions with the Youth Startup Platform staff about the program, networking among students, and viewing the students’ exhibited works.
Through the event, students reflected on the sense of accomplishment they felt while creating their works during the education period and their expectations for the second half program. They also presented various demands such as extending the Youth School attendance period and opening advanced courses, providing an opportunity to hear young people’s opinions on the development direction of the Youth Startup Platform.
Kim Hyun-sook, Head of the Youth Employment Division, said, “Through this Youth School networking day, we created a communication space where youth, instructors, and operators exchanged diverse opinions,” adding, “We will further activate the Youth Startup Platform so that Pohang youth can seriously consider and experience their career paths.”
