From the Mayor and Deputy Mayor to the Staff, Proactive Administration on the Ground Leads to Results
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 28th that it secured 2.4 billion KRW in special grants this month, which are provided by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to support local financial demands and regional issues.
The amount of special grants secured by Dongjak-gu is higher than that of other autonomous districts in Seoul (1 billion to 1.4 billion KRW), and the amount secured in the first half of this year is the largest ever.
The detailed breakdown of the special grants secured this time includes ▲800 million KRW for installation and performance improvement of security CCTV ▲200 million KRW for maintenance of school zones including Haengnim Elementary School and Namsa Elementary School
▲600 million KRW for the creation of Seodalsan Sunrise Plaza and Hangang View Rest Area ▲300 million KRW for environmental improvement projects of waiting rooms for park maintenance workers.
Prior to this, the district secured about 600 million KRW in May this year for policy projects and disaster safety special grants.
These include ▲seismic reinforcement construction at Sangdo Daycare Center, Sangdo 2-dong, and Noryangjin 1-dong senior centers ▲support for cold wave countermeasures ▲incentives for excellent local government in innovation evaluation ▲incentives for excellent local government in proactive administration evaluation.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “This is the result of personally running around to secure budgets to solve local issues amid the expected deterioration of recent revenue conditions,” and added, “We will create changes in daily life that residents can feel by solving the piled-up problems in the region.”
