Momentum Builds for Gyeonggi International Airport Establishment... Ordinance Passed by Provincial Assembly
Gyeonggi Province's priority project to establish the 'Gyeonggi International Airport' has gained momentum.
Gyeonggi Province announced that the 'Ordinance on the Promotion and Support for the Attraction and Construction of Gyeonggi International Airport' passed the plenary session of the 369th Gyeonggi Provincial Council regular meeting held on the 28th. The ordinance was amended and approved by the Urban Environment Committee of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council on the 26th.
With the passage of the ordinance, Gyeonggi Province will be able to swiftly proceed with projects such as establishing the vision for Gyeonggi International Airport, operating advisory committees, and holding forums.
The ordinance aims to attract an international airport to Gyeonggi Province and stipulate necessary matters to promote its construction in response to the human and material aviation demand within the province.
It includes provisions that the governor must actively promote policies to support the attraction of Gyeonggi Airport and reflect the opinions of residents during this process.

Han Hyun-su, head of the Gyeonggi International Airport Promotion Team, stated, "We will build a proper international airport in the southern region of Gyeonggi to lead advanced industry logistics exports and regional development." He added, "Now that we have taken the first step, we will gather diverse opinions and proceed with the international airport promotion project that satisfies all residents."
