Minister Jeong Hwang-geun Visits Guinea Enjere Kore Unified Rice Cultivation Complex
Jeong Hwang-geun, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, stated on the 26th (local time), "Starting this year, we will increase the cultivation area and distribute rice seeds to produce enough rice to feed more than 5 million people after 2027, and we will spread post-management technologies."
On the same day, Minister Jeong visited the Enjere Kore region in Guinea, where the unified rice variety (ISRIZ-7) bred by Korea for Africa is cultivated, and held meetings with Guinea's Minister of Agriculture and Livestock and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Mamoudou Nagnalen Barry, Guinea's Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, accompanied Minister Jeong for two days from his arrival in Guinea to the site visit. At this meeting, Minister Mamoudou Nagnalen Barry urged local farmers to make the best use of the K-Rice Belt project to create a good precedent for agricultural development in Guinea and emphasized that the Guinean government would spare no support.
Subsequently, Minister Jeong promised to distribute rice seeds and spread post-management technologies during a meeting with Morisanda Kouyat?, Guinea's Minister of Foreign Affairs. In response, Minister Kouyat? said, "We regard Korea as a model for Guinea's economic development," and expressed hope to expand cooperation to other fields, starting with agriculture.

Minister Jeong said, "Korea's agricultural technology, which overcame poverty and hunger, is receiving great response in Africa," and added, "Through this trip, I will do my best in the remaining schedule to spread K-agricultural technology in Africa and enhance our national prestige."
