Since stepping into the golf course industry, Song has compiled comprehensive materials based on years of study and experience. The author addresses the unique challenges of designing premium golf courses in Korea, considering differences in terrain, environment, forest conditions, regulations, and golf culture compared to the United States and Japan. The book meticulously describes each stage of the process, including golf course construction planning, design, detailed design, and supervision.
It also introduces famous golf courses and holes worldwide, such as the 18th hole at Carnoustie, the 13th hole at Pine Valley, the 12th hole at Augusta National, the 18th hole at Pebble Beach, and the 15th hole at Cypress Point, enhancing readers' understanding of renowned golf courses and holes. Song graduated from Hanyang University and is a full member of the Korea Professional Engineers Association. He has designed approximately 80 golf courses domestically and internationally, including Wellington, Seowon Valley, Namchon, Songchu, Gonjiam, Seolhaewon, Sagewood, La Vie Belle Dunes, The Beach, and Asiad. He has served as a member of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Regulatory Reform Committee, a selector for Asia's Top 100 Courses, a technical advisor for the Korea Turfgrass Research Institute, a golf advisor for JTBC Golf, and a contributing architecture editor for Golf Magazine Korea.
