Goheung-gun Holds Exchange Event with Sister City Chuncheon-si

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Yeong-min) announced that from the 26th to the 27th, a delegation of about 30 people including Yuk Dong-han, Mayor of Chuncheon City, Gangwon-do, a sister city, visited Gohung-gun for 1 night and 2 days to reaffirm the strong friendship between the two local governments.

This visit by the Chuncheon City delegation from Gangwon-do was made to Gohung-gun to revitalize exchange cooperation and strengthen ties in administrative and civilian sectors, starting from the sister city agreement signed by the two local governments at Chuncheon City Hall on February 28.

Governor Gong Yeong-min said, “I sincerely welcome Mayor Yuk Dong-han of Chuncheon and the council members and delegation who traveled a long way from Chuncheon to Gohung-gun. I hope this occasion will deepen the affection between the two cities and expand exchange and cooperation projects into various fields.”

In response, Mayor Yuk Dong-han said, “I deeply appreciate the warm welcome and hospitality from Governor Gong Yeong-min and all the staff. Through this exchange event, I hope the two cities will continue broad and practical exchanges in various fields such as culture, tourism, sports, and economy.”

The welcoming event held on the 26th also served as an opportunity to reaffirm the strong friendship between the two local governments through cross-donations under the hometown love donation system by the Chuncheon Gohung Ryu clan and the Gohung Ryu clan relatives.

Starting with the meeting on the 26th, the Chuncheon City delegation visited the Gohung Naro Space Center on the 27th to tour the historic site where the Korean launch vehicle “Nuriho” was launched.

Gohung-gun and Chuncheon City plan to continue holding regular mutual exchange events and further expand various exchange cooperation projects such as promoting excellent agricultural and specialty products.
