Suwon-si Promotes Slate Removal and Roof Improvement Project
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting participants on a first-come, first-served basis for its slate removal and roof improvement support project.
On the 27th, Suwon announced that it will provide support for owners of houses or non-residential buildings such as warehouses and livestock barns, which are not registered as factories in the building register, using asbestos slate roofing or wall materials within the jurisdiction.
Suwon will cover the full cost of slate removal for 'priority support households' such as basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, and other vulnerable groups, while general households will receive support of up to 7 million KRW.
For roof improvement work, support of up to 10 million KRW will be provided to eligible households, and up to 3 million KRW to general households.
Additionally, for non-residential buildings such as warehouses and livestock barns with an area of 200㎡ or less, the full cost of removal will be supported.
Suwon will carry out slate removal and roof improvement work through selected contractors, and if applicants incur any out-of-pocket expenses, they must pay these costs directly to the contractors.
However, households that have received support for slate removal or roof improvement work more than once are excluded from eligibility. The project will continue until the budget is exhausted.
Applications must be submitted in person by the building owner at the Saebit Civil Service Office in Suwon City Hall.
