Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Promotes Free Distribution of Residential Fire Safety Equipment
The Bukbu Fire Station of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it will promote the distribution and installation of residential fire safety equipment in 2023 until October.
Residential fire safety equipment includes fire extinguishers and standalone smoke detectors, which are fire safety devices required to be installed in single-family and multi-family homes for fire prevention according to the Fire Safety Installation and Management Act.
Accordingly, the Bukbu Fire Station has been promoting the free distribution of residential fire safety equipment since 2015, distributing to 23,596 households by last year. This year, a citizen installation team of 8 members, divided into 4 groups, will distribute to 5,210 households in the jurisdiction, visiting each household to install one set of residential fire safety equipment consisting of one fire extinguisher and two residential fire alarms.
The distribution priority is given to basic livelihood security recipients and (semi-)basement households, with plans to expand distribution to general residential occupants.
