Boseong-gun, Joseon University Linked 'Lifelong Learning Humanities Lecture' Program Operation
Sharing Humanities Knowledge Annually Through High-Quality Education
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate a 'Lifelong Learning Humanities Lecture' every other Wednesday from June 21 to September at Cheonsangjae Hakdang in Ganae Village, Mundeok-myeon.
Since 2020, Boseong-gun has been operating lifelong learning humanities lectures for four consecutive years this year in collaboration with local universities such as Suncheon Jeil University, Chosun University, and Jeonnam Provincial University.
This lecture series was prepared to provide lifelong learning opportunities to residents under the theme of 'Deepening Understanding of 3 Bohyang' in collaboration with Chosun University.
The first lecture, titled 'Becoming One with the World through Childlike Innocence in Children's Literature' by Kim Mok, president of the Gwangju Jeonnam Children's Literature Association, will be followed by lectures from eight experts in various fields.
Professor Lee Seok-hyun of the Disaster Humanities Research Project Group at Chosun University, who gave the congratulatory speech at the first lecture, said, “This lecture series was supported to expand the base of humanities, which studies humans and human thoughts and culture. Cheonsangjae lectures, planned for humanities study, are considered a nationwide exemplary case, so we hope many residents will participate.”
Anyone interested in humanities can participate in the humanities lectures.
Meanwhile, Ganae Village in Mundeok-myeon is famous as a village of PhDs, producing various talents including Songjae Seo Jae-pil, and Cheonsangjae Hakdang in the Seongju Yi clan village was destroyed during the Korean War but has recently been restored and serves as a learning center for sharing information and knowledge.
