Estimated Impact of Substation Equipment Failure, Cause Under Investigation
On the morning of the 26th, a series of elevator stoppage incidents due to power outages occurred in Changwon, Gyeongnam.
According to the Changwon Fire Headquarters, from around 6:11 AM to 6:56 AM, a total of 15 reports were received of people trapped in elevators due to power outages in areas including Uichang-gu, Seongsan-gu, Jinhae-gu, and Masanhwoe-gu.
The fire authorities, who responded to the reports, rescued 9 people from 11 locations, while some escaped on their own, resulting in no casualties.

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) stated that the accident occurred due to a temporary failure of the substation equipment at the Shinnoksan Substation in Busan around 6:08 AM, which weakened the power supply, and they are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
On the rainy morning of the 26th, power outages inside elevators occurred in various parts of Changwon City, Gyeongnam, causing citizens to become trapped and requiring rescue, leading to inconvenience.
