[BusanIsReady] Hyundai Motor Provides 10 Wrapped Electric Vehicles for BIE General Assembly
Helping Operation of Tourist Attractions and Movement of Delegations
Jung Eui-sun Promotes at Event Inviting Ambassador to the U.S.
Hyundai Motor Group provided 10 vehicles wrapped with the phrase ‘BUSAN is READY!’ as transportation for the Korean delegation at the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) General Assembly held in Paris, France, starting on the 20th (local time).
The vehicles provided this time were all dedicated electric cars, in line with the purpose of the Busan Expo event seeking a sustainable future. They operated around major tourist attractions in Paris such as the Eiffel Tower and were used as transportation for delegations traveling between the assembly hall and reception venues. Previously, during the BIE General Assemblies held in June and November last year, vehicles wrapped with the Busan Expo logo were also operated to promote Busan. Various electric cars and vans were provided when delegations from Pacific island countries, which have many BIE member states, visited Korea for the summit or when the BIE inspection team came to Korea.
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia provided the dedicated electric vehicles Ioniq 5 and 6, EV6 as transportation for the Korean delegation during the International Bureau of Expositions General Assembly.
The promotional video for the bid, created with participation from Busan citizens and foreigners living in Korea, also attracted attention. The video made to support the Busan Expo bid consists of two series and 35 related short-form videos, and the total views exceeded 100 million within just over three months since the first video was uploaded. The first series showed how prepared Busan citizens are, while the second series featured foreigners residing in Korea conveying Busan’s determination to host the event in their native languages. Notably, about 70% of the views of this promotional video were from overseas.
Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Euisun personally attended an event hosted by the Korean Ambassador to the U.S. in February, inviting ambassadors from African and Caribbean countries to the U.S., where he actively promoted Busan’s suitability for hosting the World Expo.
