Putin's Prestige Falls... Even Allies Draw the Line Amid Russian Armed Rebellion Crisis
China, Iran, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, etc.
Silent or "Internal Issue" on Armed Rebellion Crisis
Regarding the armed rebellion by the Russian private military company Wagner Group, countries considered allies of Russia have drawn a line by calling it an 'internal Russian issue,' attracting attention. Analysts suggest that Russian President Vladimir Putin's international standing has been declining since the invasion of Ukraine.
On the 24th (local time), according to the British Telegraph, the Kazakh presidential office stated that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev conveyed in a phone call with President Putin that the Wagner Group's rebellion is entirely an internal Russian matter. Kazakhstan, a former Soviet state, maintains a traditional friendly relationship with Russia and continues cooperation in economic, military, and other fields.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an also reportedly showed a somewhat lukewarm response during a phone call with President Putin. Turkey has been regarded as an important economic and diplomatic partner of Russia. Erdo?an reportedly urged Putin to act according to 'common sense' and said he would help seek a 'peaceful resolution to the Russian situation as soon as possible,' according to the Telegraph. The Kremlin had previously claimed that President Erdo?an expressed 'full support for the actions of the Russian leadership' to President Putin.
Iran also stated in a declaration that it supports the rule of law in Russia but considers the armed rebellion an 'internal Russian issue,' the Telegraph reported. Experts pointed out that the statement is far from a strong endorsement of President Putin.
China remains silent regarding the Wagner Group's rebellion. China is considered a key pillar of Russia's 'anti-Western alliance.'

The media analyzed that this situation shows how President Putin has become isolated from countries around the world since ordering the invasion of Ukraine in February last year. It also predicted that if internal turmoil like this continues and President Putin becomes diplomatically isolated, his political standing and other aspects will become more vulnerable.
