Gwangju Dong-gu to Operate 'Haengbok Taxi' for Transportation-Disadvantaged Starting July
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City will operate the ‘Happy Dong-gu Taxi’ service starting in July for residents living in areas with poor public transportation accessibility.
The ‘Happy Dong-gu Taxi’ project provides two monthly ride vouchers to seniors aged 65 and over and people with disabilities living in transportation-vulnerable areas. Each voucher supports up to 15,000 KRW.
Selected users residing in transportation-vulnerable areas can use the taxi service to travel anywhere within Gwangju and to Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital.
When paying the taxi fare, users must cover a basic co-payment (minimum 2,000 KRW), and the remaining amount can be paid using the voucher.
