Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam: "We Will Never Forget the Sacrifice of the 6.25 War Veterans"

Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do held the '73rd Anniversary of the June 25 War Event' on the 25th at the Jangseong County Citizens' Hall.

Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam: "We Will Never Forget the Sacrifice of the 6.25 War Veterans"

Hosted by the Jangseong County Branch of the Korean War Veterans Association, the event was attended by about 200 people, including Jangseong residents, officials from veterans' organizations, Kim Han-jong, the governor of Jangseong-gun, members of the Jeollanam-do and Jangseong County councils, and heads of institutions and social organizations.

The event, which began with a performance by the Sangmudae Military Band, proceeded with the national ceremony, awarding of military merit medals, and commendations for veterans.

In his commemorative speech, Governor Kim Han-jong said, "The happiness we enjoy today is because of the heroes who devoted their youth 73 years ago to protect the freedom and peace of this land," adding, "We will deeply engrave the sacrifice and dedication of the Korean War veterans in our hearts and always remember them."

Meanwhile, Jangseong-gun is making multifaceted efforts to improve the treatment of veterans, including providing honorary allowances for veterans and allowances for spouses and bereaved families.
