The 1st Research Officer Career Competitive Recruitment Examination of This Year
National Pukyong University (President Jang Young-su) produced seven successful candidates in the recruitment exam for marine and fisheries researchers at the National Institute of Fisheries Science.

View original imageRecently, Pukyong University had seven names listed in the final successful candidates for the 2023 1st Research Officer (Marine and Fisheries Researcher) Career Competitive Recruitment Exam announced by the National Institute of Fisheries Science: Kim Sora, Park Sujin, Choi Jaehoon, Lee Minkyeong, Heo Gyeom, Baek Suyeon, and Yoon Hyeonjeong.
The National Institute of Fisheries Science is the only national research institution in South Korea dedicated to marine and fisheries research, responsible for tasks such as coastal and offshore fisheries resource management, aquaculture technology development, fishing ground environment surveys, fisheries engineering technology development, and fisheries biological quarantine.
In this recruitment exam, the National Institute of Fisheries Science selected a total of 21 research officers in fields including marine environment (marine research/coastal environment), fisheries resources (resource biology and ecology), aquaculture (aquaculture production/biotechnology/fishery diseases), fisheries engineering (fishing gear and methods/equipment development/fisheries marine facilities), and fisheries processing (food safety/processing nutrition).
At Pukyong University, Kim Sora (Ph.D. graduate in Marine Biology, supervised by Professor Baek Hyeja) passed in the resource biology and ecology field; Park Sujin (Ph.D. graduate in Fisheries Biology, supervised by Professor Choi Yoonhee) passed in the aquaculture production field; Choi Jaehoon (Master's graduate in Fisheries Biology, supervised by Professor Gong Seungpyo) and Lee Minkyeong (Ph.D. graduate in Food Life Sciences, supervised by Professor Nam Taekjeong) passed in the biotechnology field.
Heo Gyeom (Ph.D. graduate in Fisheries Physics, supervised by Professor Shin Hyunok) passed in the fishing gear and methods field; Baek Suyeon (Master's graduate in Intelligent Robotics Engineering, supervised by Professor Lee Kyungchang) passed in the equipment development field; and Yoon Hyeonjeong (Master's graduate in Food Life Sciences, supervised by Professor Lee Sanggil) passed in the processing nutrition field.

The final successful candidates are scheduled to be appointed in early July and will work in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and other areas.
