Boseong Yulpo Beach to Crack Down on Long-Term Tent Camping
Establishment of Forced Demolition System in the Enforcement Decree of the Beach Act
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 28th, in accordance with the enforcement of the "Act on the Use and Management of Beaches" (hereinafter referred to as the Beach Act), it will conduct crackdowns on long-term tents and unauthorized camping facilities at beaches within the jurisdiction.
Since May, Boseong-gun has been conducting continuous promotional activities such as posting banners encouraging voluntary removal and attaching tags on facilities that were installed and abandoned for long periods without permission at Yulpo Solbat Beach. However, some users leaving tents or camping facilities unattended for extended periods have caused difficulties.
The so-called "reservation tents" left unattended for long periods have been causing harm to tourists visiting the beach, residents, and the administration. Meanwhile, on the 20th, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries passed the "Enforcement Decree Amendment of the Act on the Use and Management of Beaches" at the Cabinet meeting.
According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the amendment prohibits unauthorized abandonment or installation of items within the beach and establishes regulations allowing the management authority to directly remove such items if administrative enforcement is difficult. The amendment is scheduled to take effect on June 28.
Accordingly, Boseong-gun plans to take strong measures such as forcibly removing long-term unauthorized items, including reservation tents, after the law is enforced.
A Boseong-gun official stated, "Ahead of the opening of Yulpo Solbat Beach on July 8, preparations to welcome tourists, including maintenance of convenience facilities and safety equipment inspections, are proceeding smoothly." He added, "We ask for cooperation for a pleasant Yulpo Solbat Beach and for the convenience of other users."
