Yongin City announced on the 23rd that it had notified the 'Urban Management Plan Decision' to establish Giheung 1 Middle School in the area of 258-2, Hagal-dong, Giheung-gu on the 22nd.
The Hagal-dong area, where the middle school is planned to be established, has seen a continuous influx of large-scale apartment complexes, but there has been a high demand for a new school as there is no middle school for students to attend. In particular, since there is no middle school nearby, students in this area currently commute long distances to middle schools in the Singal area.
Accordingly, Yongin City, after consultations with related departments, established an urban plan to build a school with a capacity of 605 students, including 23 general classes and 1 special class.
This plan by Yongin City was approved as originally proposed at the 9th Urban Planning Committee meeting of Yongin City held on the 25th of last month.
Yongin City decided to invest 1.7 billion KRW to open acceleration and deceleration lanes near the planned school site to ensure the safe commute of students attending the new middle school.
