Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Holds Cultural Event for Veterans' Families in Honor of Veterans Month
Inviting over 200 National Merit Recipients and Their Families... Awards and Lunch Served
On the morning of the 22nd, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, held a 'Cultural Event for Veterans' Families' at Yewon Church located in Deungchon-dong.
In celebration of Veterans Month, the district organized the event to honor the noble sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs and to express gratitude to national merit recipients and veterans' families.
About 200 people attended the event, including Kim Yong-baek, chairman of the Veterans Organizations Federation, Korean War veterans, and their families.
The event began with a moment of silence for the patriotic martyrs and national heroes, followed by ▲awards presentation to merit recipients ▲guest congratulatory speeches ▲celebratory performances ▲and lunch.
In particular, the district presented certificates of commendation to show respect and appreciation to national merit recipients and their families. A total of nine recipients were honored for their contributions to local community development and raising residents' awareness of national security.
The awardees include Kim Byung-ok of the Korean War Veterans Association, Kim Jin-su of the Vietnam War Veterans Association, Park Dae-woong of the Agent Orange Veterans Association, Shin Hyun-jong of the Liberation Association, Son Yoo-bok of the Merchant Military Police Association, Lee Dong-woo of the War Dead Military Families Association, Park Young-soon of the War Dead Military Widows Association, Park Chun-do of the Medal of Honor Recipients Association, and Lim Ik-seok of the Special Mission Merit Association.
